- Wikipedia Bespoke Definition
Bespoke Builders is the contractor to work with when quality and value are important. The owner of Bespoke Builders, Shannon Mark Pulcifer, did not choose the name without putting considerable thought into it. Here is a little history:
Shannon was taught good work ethics at a young age, helping his parents with home remodel projects as far back as he can remember, including on their Victorian-style farmhouse (which was built in 1865) as well as working on a family farm in Michigan picking vegetables in the summers, starting at the ripe old age of 10. He and his brothers, cousins, and others (from Shannon’s age up into their twenties) working on the farm were paid by what they picked, peas and green beans by the pound, potatoes by the bushel, squash, zucchini, and cucumbers by the basket (a half bushel), etc. Although there were some who goofed off most of the day, and one cousin who managed to earn only $0.35 one day, Shannon saw the value in being focused and working hard all day, to which he reaped the benefits. The only thing he never seemed to make money picking were the strawberries… Hmm?
In 1989, Shannon decided to make a career move and reached out to an uncle who was a contractor that mostly did wood framing of custom houses, Don Blasiak, the owner of Blasiak Builders, LLC. Because it was a small family business, Shannon was able to learn a lot from his uncle and cousins, who were all extremely talented carpenters. Their knowledge, partnered with Shannon’s two years of Architectural Drafting classes, helped put Shannon on track to becoming an experienced builder.
To make a long story short, Shannon worked for several years with his uncle and cousins, spent a couple of years in New York doing volunteer work where he also had the opportunity to work with a couple contractors renovating some Brown Stones in Brooklyn Heights and some Row Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant, gaining good experience with Historic properties. Upon moving back to Michigan, he continued in construction working as a framing carpenter and then becoming a foreman for a contractor doing framing, office buildings, restaurants, and historical restoration projects to name a few. With the experience gained thus far, Shannon decided to venture out on his own and became a licensed Residential Builder in Michigan – License #2101136798 (there is no license for Commercial Contractors in Michigan, Residential Builders perform commercial construction), shortly before visiting Arizona on vacation and deciding another change of scenery would be nice.
Shannon has been in construction ever since and has been a licensed contractor in Arizona since 2002. Licenses formerly held by Shannon in Arizona were ROC #’s 178128, 231301, 278212 and in Nevada License #0080497. In 2016, Shannon separated from a business partner (that business was dissolved) and started this company, Bespoke Builders. Through all the years in business and construction, he has built, renovated, remodeled or improved a large variety of projects, from Custom Homes, to commercial buildings such as offices, urgent cares, call centers, retail buildings, grocery stores, car washes, restaurants, hair salons, nail salons, medical offices, hospitals, fuel centers, strip centers, hotels, condominiums, banquet halls, reception halls, power plants (industrial construction) and everything in between.
On a personal note, Shannon has a large variety of interests. “Shannon is married with two boys, Anthony and Marcio, has a granddaughter, Camilla, and both Shannon and his wife Annette come from large families.” He enjoys all sorts of activities from sports and outdoor activities to cards and board games as well as traveling and many other things. Shannon enjoys art and creative design, which is one reason he loves architecture. One of Shannon’s hobbies/passions is learning languages and learning about various cultures. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, conversational in Mandarin Chinese and knows a little bit of several other languages, which is ever expanding and improving. Shannon’s love for people and the friendships he has are part of the reason Shannon enjoys construction and the opportunity to work with so many different people.
Bespoke Builders, due to Shannon’s years of experience and in business, also has an excellent group of quality subcontractors to work with, who have the knowledge, experience, and care to handle any project, build with quality standards and in a timely manner.
